CCRU Network is an independent directory of contemporary accounts taking up the name or influence of the Cybernetic Culture Research Unit. It offers a practical starting point: find a place, browse an account, follow a link.

The listed groups may be autonomous, loosely connected or unrelated to one another. Their presence here does not make them chapters of a parent organisation. The map indicates geographic references, not a hierarchy.

A name with a particular history.

The historical CCRU emerged from the experimental intellectual milieu around Warwick University in the 1990s. Its work brought cybernetics, philosophy, electronic music, occult systems and science fiction into contact through cultural experiment and theory-fiction.

That history is a reference point, not a mandate. This directory is independent of the historical CCRU. It asserts no organisational continuity, official status or endorsement for itself or the accounts it lists.

Approximate by design.

Locations are manually inferred from recognisable place names and geographic abbreviations in account handles. They have not been verified with account holders. City markers use approximate city references; country markers use broad country reference points, never an invented city or street address.

Solid markers indicate city references. Hollow markers indicate country references. A numbered marker groups nearby points: select it to see every account in that area, then zoom for more separation.

Ambiguous names are left unlocated. Lemuria is treated as a conceptual reference, not assigned a fictional position on the world map. All 9 unlocated accounts remain in the directory alongside the 32 located accounts.

Small, deliberate, independent.

The starting record contains 41 Instagram accounts supplied for this project. Usernames and links are reproduced from that list. No profiles have been scraped, no activity status has been checked, and no biographies or affiliations have been inferred.

Instagram is an external destination, not a dependency of this site. There are no embedded feeds, tracking scripts, accounts or cookies. The directory is a set of static pages with a locally stored map.
